Sing A Long CD and Lyrics

I am a coordinator in a memory care unit.
We love to sing all day.
I use the CD during meal times. It helps to keep our meals calm as the music is familiar to every one.
I use the lyrics during our sing along time. Most of our folks no longer read so the lyrics are for me to lead singing. I am very satisfied and will be purchasing more cd's and lyrics.

I think this is a wonderful idea of having a CD of our beloved old
hymns and then a book where the words to the hymn are given and one can sing along. I first heard this in an assisted care facility where there were about 10 people singing along with the tape. It was wonderful. I ordered and am now singing along with the songs. The only complaint is that it would be nice to have a little more variety in the voices singing the songs.

I purchased this cd for my m-i-l with Alzheimer's. Been trying various cds and dvds for music therapy. The songs are good; however, the tempo is pretty fast on a lot of them, making it difficult for her to try to sing along. She still does try; however, with diminished thought processes, she cannot keep up with the words. She can no longer read but does remember some of the words on familiar hymns. However, It would be better to have the tempo slower for those suffering from dementia and diminished abilities. Maybe some specifically created with this in mind.
